Ion Exchange Resin is a polymer with an insoluble matrix structure in the form of microbeads, fabricated from an organic polymer substrate. These beads are typically porous and provide a large surface area on the inside for trapping specific ions while releasing other ions.

Ion Exchange resins are widely used in different separation processes like water purification, water treatment, water softening deionization, demineralization, distillation, as well as drinking water purification. Ion Exchange resins are also used for special applications like Vitamin C purification, Protein Purification, Arsenic Removal, Fluoride Removal, Iron Removal etc.
